Norman E. Leach, 78, of Newburgh, passed away Sunday, August 24, 2025 at Oakwood Health Campus in Tell City, Indiana. He was born July 29, 1947 in Princeton, Indiana to the late Helen (Walker) and Donald Leach.

Norman graduated from North High School in 1965 and was a place kicker for the football team. He kicked his jersey number in points in one season earning him both a scholarship to college in Florida and the nickname "the boy with the golden toe." Norman was a partner in Russell Marine in Evansville from 1972 through 1976. He later owned and operated River Valley Insurance Agency in Newburgh from 1988 to 2012 until he retired. Norman was an avid motorcyclist, riding through every state except Hawaii. He enjoyed playing golf and recorded a hole in one at McDonald Golf Course in 1993.

Norman is survived by his son, Nicholas Leach of Evansville; brother, David (Jane) Leach of Evansville; sister, Sheri Joergens of Evansville; nieces and nephews; and longtime friends, Mindy Melton (Brian) and Ross Melton.

In addition to his parents, Norman was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Leach; and brother-in-law, J.D. Joergens.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville followed by a Memorial service at 4:00 p.m. with Reverend Tim Garrett officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
