With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Henry Hugh Bennett, who left us on September 26, 2025, at the age of 89. Born in Sulphur Springs, TX, Henry spent the majority of his life in Houma, La.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home Wednesday, October 1, 2025 from 9:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Henry is survived by his son, Darrell Bennett and wife, Liz; daughter, Phyllis Trosclair and husband Daniel; grandchildren, Alysha and husband, Blair, Melanie, Joseph; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Janie and husband, Sergio, Blake, Connor, Jake; sister, Dorothy Massey.
Henry is preceded in death by his wife, Sue McDonald Bennett; parents, Henry Herbert Bennett and Ruby Watson Bennett; grandchild, John Bennett; brothers, Joe Rance Bennett, Perry Bennett.
Henry worked the majority of his life as a building contractor. His passion extended beyond work; he cherished time spent golfing, fishing, and watching westerns. He also enjoyed the challenge of puzzles. Henry was an active member of his church, serving as a Deacon and Sunday school teacher.
Most importantly, Henry loved spending time with his family, who were the center of his universe. His absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him.
