Hilda Blanchard Pontif, 88, passed away on September 23, 2025. Hilda was a native of Port Sulphur LA, and long time resident of Houma, LA.
Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, September 26, 2025 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Houma, LA at 11:00am with burial following in Bayou Black Cemetery.
Hilda is survived by her loving family; her children, Brenda Galbraith and husband Daniel, Brian Pontif and wife Maggie, Steve Pontif and wife Malissa; five grandchildren, James and Ben Galbraith, Grace and Noah Pontif, and Ragen Pontif; great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Alexandria Galbraith.
Hilda is preceded in passing by her loving husband, George Pontif; parents, Clifton and Edna Blanchard; son, Dennis Pontif; sister, Helen Songy, and brother, Roy Blanchard.
Hilda was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a great cook and aimed to please all that sat at her table. Hilda had a loving and giving heart as well as a unique sense of humor that will be remembered by all who knew her.
