Henry Cheatwood Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bedford Funeral Home - Boston Globe on Oct. 4, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Mr. Henry Terrell Cheatwood, 70 of Bedford, VA went into eternal rest with his heavenly father, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at his sister's residence. He was born on June 23, 1955 in Bedford County to the late Mary "Liz" Flood and his late stepfather Henry Flood. In addition, he was preceded in death by one sister, Cheryl Williams and one brother, Morris Spinner, Jr.

Henry was affectionately known as "Buck". He was a member of Western Light Baptist Church. Henry was a devoted Christian, one who always talked about the Lord. For many years, he worked in the Bedford community for Mr. and Mrs. Burks and their son. The Burks family cherished him. They spoke of how Henry had a heart of gold, and he was a genuine person.

Henry loved his new car. You could hear him driving up with his music playing. He enjoyed watching football; his favorite team was the Cleveland Browns. Henry also loved dressing up in his kangol hats, with the outfits to match. He will truly be missed by his family and numerous friends.

Those left to cherish his memory are three brothers, John Flood (Cynthia), Joseph Flood (Sheila) and Willie Flood; five sisters: Alice Westrom (Myron), Nora Johnson, Mary Brawley, Margaret K. Hodge and Margaret Brawley (Steve); two godsons, Marcus Brawley and Devan Richie; a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends including the Burks Family and a special friend, Rosa Shram.
