Helmut "Henry" Jung (89) of Fishkill, NY, born on December 19, 1934, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family in the early hours of February 9, 2024. He was the son of Hans and Betty (Reichenberg) Jung.
Born in Bad Nauheim, Germany, Henry came to the United States on April 19, 1946 with his mother, father, brother, and sister. He married the love of his life, Joan Krivak, on November 1, 1954. They were married for 69 amazing years. Joan survives at home.
Henry attended Saunders Trade School in Yonkers, NY. He retired from General Motors in 1992. He was an avid Yankee fan. He lived for his wife and his family, between family barbecues in their backyard and Christmas Eve in the living room, being surrounded by all the kids always brought him such joy. Even in his final days, all he wanted was to see his newest great grandchildren one more time.
In addition to his beloved wife Joan, Henry leaves behind: three children, Laura Gioffre (husband Joe), Stephen Jung (wife Yasuko), and Debra Brockway (husband James); six granddaughters (Carey, Casey, Kristy, Stephanie, Samantha, and Sara), seven great grandchildren (Dianna, Henry, MJ, David, Shea, Liam, and Lily), and one great great grandson (Andres); and his sister, Jill DellaCorte, brother-in-law, George Krivak (wife Peggy).
In addition to his parents, he is pre-deceased by his brother Jack.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday February 14, 2024 from 3-6 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc. 1089 Main St. Fishkill. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:45 am on Thursday February 15, 2024, followed by burial at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
