Henry A. Smid, 82 of Somonauk, IL passed away on October 6, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was one of seven children born to George and Ruth Smid on May 6, 1943. He married Bonnie A. Johnson on December 15, 1967. Henry, known by many as
"Hank" was a member of the U.S. Army and the IBEW Local 701. He worked as an electrician and project manager for over 38 years. Upon retirement he enjoyed working on projects around the house and spending quality time with his family and grandchildren.
Henry is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Bonnie, three children Kelly (Connie) Smid, Melissa (Kyle) Anderson, Kevon (Debbie) Smid, his grandchildren Lauren and Ashlyn Smid, Kylie, Kara, and Kennedy Anderson, Zach (Sam) and Justin Smid and step grandchildren Jared, Brandon, and Rachel Schumann.
