Herodita "Dona Dory" Rabsatt, a beacon of love and laughter, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2024, at the age of 86 in Port St. Lucie, Florida, due to natural causes. Born on March 24, 1937, in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, she brought joy and warmth into the lives of all who knew her.
Herodita was the beloved wife of Juan Rabsatt for 61 cherished years. Her devotion to her family was the hallmark of her life. She was a loving mother to her four children, Carolina (Willie), Sylvia (Barry), John, and Frank (Dalila), and a doting grandmother to her eleven grandchildren, Jenny, Josie, Jannel, Jenise, Jay, Kevin, Nicholas, Brandon, Thomas, Brian, and Joseph, as well as a proud great-grandmother to seven great-grandchildren. Her family was her pride and joy, and she nurtured each relationship with care and affection.
Professionally, Herodita imparted her knowledge of shorthand and typing to many eager students, shaping their futures with her skillful teaching. Her involvement in her community was extensive and heartfelt. She served as a Sunday School Teacher, sharing her faith and wisdom with the younger generation. Her commitment to education and participation was evident in her role as a PTA Secretary. Herodita also played an integral part as the private chauffeur for her husband, Juan, and was known as the caretaker of neighborhood children, always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear.
Her interests were a reflection of her vibrant personality. Herodita had an infectious enthusiasm for television, particularly game shows like "The Price is Right" and "Let's Make a Deal," which brought her endless entertainment and joy. She was an ardent fan of Lucha Libre (WWE), and her weekends were often spent watching "Sabado Gigante" and "Siempre en Domingo." A woman of many talents, she had a passion for reciting poetry, and her faith was a cornerstone of her existence, guiding her through life's journey.
Herodita was a woman of great faith, and her belief in the goodness of others was unwavering. She was known for her humor, often sharing laughter and smiles with everyone around her. Her loving nature was evident in the way she embraced life and those she met.
