Hertha P. Ramirez

Hertha P. Ramirez of Holland, PA passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was 84 years old. Born in 1941 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late David Chambers and Hertha Boggs (Herrmann). Hertha was a Northampton Township resident for nearly 60 years.
Hertha was the beloved wife of 43 years to the late Joseph "Joe" V. Ramirez. She was also predeceased by her sister, Mary Boggs, and her brother, David Chambers Boggs.
Hertha worked for Pan Am Airlines as a secretary before beginning a long career as a realtor, starting with Hugh B. Eastburn Realtors in Newtown, PA.
She was admired for her perfect Catholic school handwriting, which - according to her children - was impossible to forge.
Hertha was a talented seamstress and enjoyed traveling, playing golf, and spending time with her family, often with a good martini in hand. She was an avid Villanova basketball fan and never missed a game. She also cherished her tennis nights with lifelong friends Linda and Pauline, and her sister-in-law, Donna. Hertha always looked forward to "snow birding" in St. Petersburg, FL with Joe and catching up with dear friends.
Hertha is survived by her nine children: Diane Clemons (Terry), Bobby Ramirez (Darlene), Bill Ramirez, Elaine Hart, Rita Ramirez, Joe Ramirez (Valerie), Martin McDonough (Joanne), David McDonough, and Maureen Szogas (Eric); nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Road, Holland, PA 18966, on Friday, February 20, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A Funeral Mass will follow. Interment will take place at St. Andrew's Cemetery, Newtown, PA.
