Holly Arrison, 69, of Erie, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, November 11, 2024.
The third of five children, Holly was born in Washington, DC on March 16th, 1955, to William and Phyllis Arrison. Though born with cerebral palsy, Holly did not allow her disability to define her. Growing up in Lakewood, NY, she attended Southwestern Central School and graduated from Jamestown Community College in 1977. Following graduation, Holly worked in the local school system as a teacher's aide.
Holly relocated to Erie in 1998 and eventually moved to West Lake Woods where she made countless friends and lived for fifteen fun-filled years. She enjoyed motoring in her wheelchair down to the Lake Erie shore to watch the sunsets on many evenings. A move to Bickford (now The Residence at Presque Isle) in 2018 allowed her to enjoy the lake view from her apartment on the third floor and drive her wheelchair along the lake shore. In 2023 she chose The Regency on South Shore as her home, relishing the cozy and friendly atmosphere with her aides and the other residents. Although her life was filled with physical challenges, Holly persevered with quiet patience and immense piety.
Holly was preceded in death by her father, William Arrison and her mother, Phyllis Arrison and is survived by her sisters Dale Grossman (Denver, CO), Lynn Harrison (Tupper Lake, NY) and Beth Hurd (Amherst, NH); her brother, Douglas Arrison (Incline Village, NV) and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to her long-time aides: Lisa G, Lisa M, Ashley P., Rick H., Maria R., and Jessie L.
Friends are invited to attend a service to be held at St. George Church, 5145 Peach St., Erie, PA on Monday, November 18, 2024 at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made in Holly's name to: The Chosen, 3638 W. 26th St., Erie, PA (chosen210.com).

I met Holly at our Women´s Cursillo #196. Little did I know that she was the special blessing I would receive that weekend. We continued our friendship over prayer sessions, lunches and just friendly visits. She was such an inspiration with her determination to live a full spiritual life. Whenever you saw her - she made you feel like you just made her day. I can still hear her squeal of greeting! She loved the Lake and enjoyed saying her rosary while watching the sunset. How ironic, that on Tuesday, Elizabeth and I were standing in Church discussing a visit with you - and here you had passed unbeknownst to us on Monday! We never got to say goodbye - but maybe that´s how it was meant to be. "Til we meet again, Dear Friend. Decolores! Rose Weber

I was privileged enough to be a friend to Holly. My mother, Bernie Beck, was Hollys neighbor for many years at West Lake Woods. The two of them loved each other very much. Mom helped Holly with some things and Holly in return helped my mom with some activities. I was very appreciative that mother had such a great relationship with Holly. Holly became a bit of a family member to our family during that time. After Bernie`s passing, Holly and I remained friends and I visited her often. She was truly a loving and devoted Christian woman She will be sorely missed.

I loved Holly.. I first met Holly at Bread of Life/St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Holly was always so positive. I loved talking with Her. We eventually would go for rides together in my car.., always going to a drive thru restuarant with Her. She was always so fun. Then I would go over to Her House on Miller St. and help her a little.... but mostly would sit and laugh over things. I lost contact with Holly years back. but I always missed her when I would drive down Peach st. going past Miller St. I would always think of the good times we shared together. I would tell Holly all about my crazy escapades and things I had done . I told Holly everything.. She accepted me for the "bi- polar nut" that I am. we shared dinner time together. then Her Nurse would show up... But I never hid any secrets from Holly. She knew me well, and She loved me for who I was. When Holly would see me at Church..... SHE WOULD SCREAM.... because She was so Happy to see Me! And she loved my Sister, Pat Berrier just the same. I will miss Holly and I know she went straight to Heaven, because she was a LIVING SAINT WHILE ON THIS EARTH... She never let her disability stop her from doing anything.. I never had the privilege of meeting Her special Mom and Dad or meeting Her brothers & Sisters. They really really did an excellent job at raising
Holly. because she was such a SPECIAL person to all who knew Her.
