Holly Lee Conroy, age 50 of East Taunton, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2025, at her residence with her loving family by her side.
She was the beloved wife of Timothy Miller.
Born on November 28th, 1974, in Fall River, Holly was the daughter of William Walkden and JoAnne (Conroy) Lipinsky.
She moved to Martha’s Vineyard as a young girl where she was raised by her mother and stepfather, Michael Lipinsky.
A talented hairdresser and cosmetologist for over 20 years, Holly for many years owned her own salon, called Holly & Co. Hair Design. Her creativity, style, and passion touched many lives (and hair!) in her community.
Holly found her greatest peace at the beach – wherever in the world it might be. From Cape Cod to Florida to Bermuda, she always found her way to the beach. She loved the warm sun on her skin, her toes buried in the sand, and the sound of waves crashing on the shore.
If you knew Holly, you know how much she loved music and dancing and how wide-ranging her music taste truly was.
Her favorite flowers were lilies and roses and would note that she couldn’t stand mums; she would explain that it’s because when the mums would come out, she knew summer was over.
She cherished movie nights at home with her family, curled up in cozy pajamas, and popcorn with extra butter melted on it. Her favorite films were scary movies – especially the ones she and her daughter Halley would watch for hours on end, quoting their favorite lines back and forth.
Holly also loved going all-out with decorations around the house for every holiday, especially Halloween and Christmas. The joy in decorating the house as a family made those seasons magical for everyone.
She was quick-witted with a sharp sense of humor and an unmistakable distinct laugh that filled the room. She had a gift to make people laugh until their stomachs hurt.
Holly was also known for her perfectly styled hair and nails, impeccable fashion sense, love of shoes, and undeniable beauty – both inside and out. She shared this love of fashion with her daughter Sophia, often picking her up from school for a quick secret shopping spree.
Full of life and energy, she often found herself at the center of attention and truly enjoyed bringing smiles to those around her.
Holly is survived by her loving husband Timothy Miller; her children, Halley, Sophia and her spouse Matthew Haynes; stepchildren, Caleb, Thomas, Timothy Jr., and Amanda; and her granddaughters Lana and Lacy. She is also survived by stepfather Michael Lipinsky, her former husband Michael Governo Jr., and his children, Travis and Dylan.
She joins her mother, JoAnne; her aunt Patricia; and cousins Randall and Leonard, in eternal rest. Her family finds comfort in knowing they are together again.
Holly’s passing was sudden, though not unexpected. She suffered from a pervasive and often misunderstood disease – one that too frequently goes unnamed in obituaries. Holly passed away from alcohol addiction.
She hid this battle from most, but her battle does not define her. Holly was a light in many people’s lives, and she would want her death to be a light as well; and illuminate the darkness that addiction and mental illness silently bring to so many. Over the years, that darkness dimmed her sparkle, caused irreparable harm to her health, and ultimately took her from us.
Though her life was far too short, it was well lived and full of love. She was a woman with great strength, resilience, and heart. She had more memories to make and plans for the future. Her family is greatly saddened by her loss but comforted by the hope that she has finally found the peace she searched for on Earth.
No one is immune to addiction. It touches all walks of life. Her family shares her story with honesty and love, in hopes of breaking the silence, dispelling the stigma, and removing the shame around mental illness and addiction to help others feel less alone.
A celebration of Holly’s life will be held at a later date and time to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts made to; National Association for Children of Addiction (NACoA), in Holly’s memory, would be deeply appreciated.
