Howard P. Daniel, beloved husband of Barbra (Jones) Daniel peacefully departed from this life on Wednesday, December 18, 2025 after a courageous battle against prostate cancer. He was born in
Atlanta, GA on October 4, 1939 to the late Ostell & Frances Daniel.
He was baptized in Jesus' name, and was filled with the Holy Ghost at The Way International in
Manchester, CT. Howard joined Bethesda Apostolic Church in
New Britain, CT and was ordained as a Deacon. Deacon Daniel was a faithful, anointed man of God and loved to praise and worship the Lord. He loved God with all of his heart and was committed to building God's Kingdom. Deacon Daniel was a father and friend to all who knew his loving ways and devotion to Jesus Christ.
Howard graduated Hartford Public High School (the old school) and UConn at Storrs in 1964. He was employed as a draftsman at Quality Name Plate in Glastonbury for over 20 years.
Howard loved sports and was involved in baseball, ran track and basketball. He played in the minor league for the New York Yankees. He loved the New York Yankees and Dallas Cowboys, his grandchildren and vacationing in Hawaii.
His desire to make a difference in the lives of children was manifested as he coached Little League and Instructional League in Rockville for 31 years where his team, Villa Apartments, won back-to-back championships. He taught them life skills, the Word of God and loved them. Some of them are married with children and brought them to see "Coach Daniel." They often said, "this is the man who helped me, cared about me and encouraged me to be my best self." Some of them are doctors, lawyers and in other successful positions.
He was dedicated to his loyal wife, Barbra Daniel, the love of his life. They were inseparable in life and he would hug and kiss her anywhere - even in church. He was blessed and loved by his children and their accomplishments - Architect Bryant, Chef Shakir and Empower Director, Jessica. A week before his death, his grandson, Michael, announced he will be attending his Alma Mater, UConn. And there are no words to express Papa's love for Abigail and Sugar Baby.
Deacon Daniel leaves to mourn his death his wife, Barbra; three loving children: Jessica Monique (Andre) Reid of
Tolland, CT, Bryant (Jessica) Daniel of
Plainville, CT, and Shakir (Jennifer) Daniel of
Enfield, CT; three grandchildren: Michael Daniel, Abigail Daniel, and Alessandra "Sugar Baby" Reid, who loved him very much; a mother-in-law, Leah Glymph; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Joseph; three brothers-in law: Reginald Glymph, Robert Gloster, and Cammeron Glymph; an aunt, Katherine Jones; and an uncle, Elbert Jones.
