With heavy hearts, we mourn the passing of Howard Soo Hoo, 91, of Monroe Township, NJ. He passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, with his daughters Donna and Dana and son Darrel by his side.
Howard was born on July 28, 1933, in Newark, NJ to Monyen and Woo (Shee) Soo Hoo. He resided in Monroe Township, NJ since 1969 and was an Engineer for AT&T for over 30 years. Howard loved to cook, surf the internet for recipes and DIY projects, watch old westerns, and play mahjong. He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, caring brother, and beloved uncle.
Howard was a loving father to his children Donna Fahey and her husband Tom Xenos of Lambertville, NJ; Darrel Soo Hoo of Monroe Township, NJ; and Dana Whelan and her husband Matt of Massapequa Park, NY. He was a proud grandfather to Amanda and Brian and beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Betty Soo Hoo (d. 2004) and his siblings, Wallace Wey, Ida Ng, Robert Soo Hoo, and Francis (Bee) Soo Hoo.
The visitation will take place on Saturday, October 12, 2024, from 9:30am-12:30pm at Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 568 Middlesex Ave., Metuchen followed by the Entombment in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.
