Howard W. "Bill" Phillips, 70, of Blairstown, NJ, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2024.
Born on February 8, 1954, in Newton, NJ, Bill was the cherished son of Harry and Edna (Hill) Phillips. A lifelong resident of Blairstown, he graduated from North Warren Regional High School in 1974. Bill had a profound love for the outdoors and working as a laborer for the State of New Jersey, Division of Fish and Wildlife, was a perfect fit.
His passions included fishing, hunting, trapping, and wildlife photography-activities that brought him joy and fulfillment throughout his life. Additionally, he enjoyed many hours helping friends with maple sugaring. Bill also enjoyed going to outboard boat races and antique gas and steam engine shows. Over the last several years, Bill's appreciation for his heavenly Father deepened into something that gave him great comfort and a strong hope for the future.
He is survived by his devoted mother, Edna Phillips; his sisters Lorraine Granger and Elizabeth Roy (husband Keith); his nephew Kyle Granger; and his niece Chelsea Granger. Bill was preceded in death by his father, Harry Phillips; his sister Deborah Phillips; and his brother-in- law, Everett Granger.
Bill's memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will remember him for his love of nature and the simple pleasures in life.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Bill has been entrusted under the care of Newbaker Funeral Home, Blairstown, NJ.
