BLUEFIELD - Our beloved son, Hugh Bryan Clary (30), born November 1, 1994, in Orange Park, FL, left this earth on January 13, 2025, from Bluefield, WV. Hugh was the first-born son of former Southern Baptist Missionaries, Henry and Matasha Clary, who greatly loved him and raised him in church among many wonderful and caring people who loved the Lord. Hugh had also lived in Texas, Costa Rica, and Uruguay. He was fluent in Spanish and enjoyed interacting with folks in their native language back here in the US. Hugh graduated from Graham High School in 2013 and immediately enlisted in the Marines. Hugh was hilarious, hard-working, smart and handsome. He enjoyed living life on the dangerous side. He was a tree cutter by trade, an amateur bull-rider, an expert marksman, and loved spending time with his friends and family. He was gifted in mechanics, loved learning and had a heart to serve and help others, especially the underdog. He deeply loved his little niece, Charlotte. Hugh professed his faith in Jesus Christ.
Besides his parents, survivors include siblings, Mark Clary and Elise Clary, of Bluefield, WV; son, Weston James Clary, of Princeton; niece, Charlotte Willow Clary; grandma Bonnie Townsend, of Poca, WV, and grandpa Clay B. Townsend, of GA; uncles and aunts David & Madalyn Townsend, John & Candy Clary, Martin & Kathy Clary, Diane & Butchie Keefe, Sam Clary, Ronnie & Margie Lee, Marcia Garrison as well as several cousins in Florida and Texas.
A memorial service will be held at his home church, Fellowship Baptist in Princeton, WV (next to Heaven Sent Ministries-to arrive at Fellowship Baptist, just type "Heaven Sent Ministries" into Google Maps or Apple Maps and it will bring you right to us), 400 City View Heights, on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 3 PM with a reception to follow.
"Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust."" Psalm 91:1-2
