JoAnn Mattison Crider, 81, widow of the late Richard Hollis Crider, formerly of Belton, entered into rest Tuesday August 9, 2022 at her residence.
Born in Anderson to the late M.G. and Augusta Ragsdale Mattison, after high school she received a basketball scholarship to Anderson College as well as Erskin College where she received her B.A. She worked 20 years for Belks, then opened Redbarn Ceramics in Forest Park. She retired from Forest Park Senior Center.
She was a member of College Park Baptist Church.
Surviving are her sister, Eunice Ashley and husband Wyatt of Belton; her nephews, Lane Ashley of Belton, Brian Arrington and wife Amy of Mt. Pleasant; her great nieces, Rebecca A. Taylor and husband Aaron, Madelyn O. Ashley, Maitland Arrington and Keegan Arrington; her sister-in-law, Diane C. Arrington and husband David.
Graveside services will be conducted Friday from the Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. David Cox officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
The family is at the home of her sister, Eunice Ashley, 208 River Street.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 806, Belton, SC 29627 or to Meals on Wheels of Anderson, P.O. Box 285 Anderson, SC 29622.
