Ilene Louise Supanich

Ilene L. Supanich, 91, of Shelby Township, passed away peacefully at home on October 7, 2025.
She is survived by her loving companion Frank La Porte.
Ilene was the beloved mother of Donna Arnold (the late Gene), James Supanich (the late Paula), William Supanich (Pam), and Ann Supanich. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband James Supanich; her grandson Robert; her great-grandson Cedar; and her sisters; Audrey, Carol, and Janet.
She is survived by her 39 cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren, who will forever carry her love, laughter, and lessons in their hearts. Affectionately known by her family as Grandma Kitty, Ilene was the heart of every gathering and a source of endless warmth and joy.
Ilene lived a full and joyful life surrounded by family and friends. She found happiness in life's simple pleasures - paint by number, working on puzzles, visiting the casino, and watching the sunset over the L'Anse Bay. Known for her kindness, generosity, and sense of humor, Ilene brought light and laughter wherever she went. She was also famous among friends and family for hosting fabulous Christmas Eve parties and her unforgettable potato salad - both traditions that will be lovingly remembered and carried on.
A service to honor Ilene's life will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025 from 9:30 am until 11:00 am. There will be a sharing of memories at 11:00 am at Wasik Funeral Home, 49150 Schoenherr Rd., Shelby Township, MI 48315.
