Imelda Geisler, affectionately known as "Mel" or "Mimi" to her loved ones, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 29, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 96.
Born on August 18, 1928, Mel lived a long, joyful life filled with love, laughter, and a deep devotion to family. She was known for her strength of character, her radiant spirit, and her unwavering generosity. To know Mel was to be welcomed, cared for, and genuinely loved.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lawrence "Larry" or "Da" Geisler, with whom she shared over 75 wonderful years of marriage. Their bond was an inspiring example of love, partnership, and strong faith.
Mel is survived by her devoted daughter, Cheryl Foley, and son-in-law, Mitchel Foley of Spring Branch, Texas. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Scott and Erin Foley and a joyful great-grandmother to Kendall and Chase Foley, all of San Antonio. Her family was her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Mel had a unique ability to make everyone feel special - whether through her kind words, a thoughtful gesture, or simply her calming presence. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life, and she carried herself with humility, grace, and gratitude.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her - not only as a mother and grandmother, but as a loyal friend, a wise mentor, and a spirited soul whose light made the world a better place.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 25, 2025 at 10:00am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, with interment to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
