Irene L. Anderson

Irene L. Anderson, 97, of Escanaba, passed away the afternoon of Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at her home.

Irene was born on March 20, 1928 in Garden, MI, daughter of the late Edwin and Ida (Haas) Paulson.

In 1947, the former Irene Paulson married Eino Anderson and they had five children together, Dianna, Richard "Rich", Jerry, Wanda, and Gerald.

Irene began working at Marco's in the kitchen making pizzas. She then started working at OSF St. Francis Hospital where she started in housekeeping then transferred to central supply. Irene worked at OSF for over 25 years before her retirement in 1984.

She volunteered as a Girl Scout and 4-H leader and enjoyed going to the Escanaba Eskymos football games. She loved watching the Green Bay Packers but above all, she loved spending time with her family.

Among survivors include her children, Dianna (Duane) Deno, Rich (Carol) Anderson, and Jerry Anderson, all of Escanaba; grandchildren, Mark, Greg, and Jaime Johnson, Kelli Tourangeau, and Scott, Kristi, and Jason Anderson; 15 great grandchildren; along with several great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Along with her parents, Irene is preceded in death by Eino Anderson; children, Wanda Johnson, Gerald Anderson, and James Paulson; and brothers, Howard, Harold, and Edward Paulson.

Visitation will take place on Monday, October 6, 2025 from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home, 302 S 13th St, Escanaba. A funeral service will immediately follow at 4 p.m.

Burial will take place at Gardens of Rest Cemetery.
