A visitation will be held at Fletcher Funeral Home on Saturday, December 7, 2024, beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service.
He was a native of Coteau, LA and a resident of New Iberia, LA who transitioned at 5:50 A.M. on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at his residence.
Mr. Isaac was a member of The New Iberia Church of Christ in New Iberia, LA. He was a member of many organizations including Earnest Gullet Chapter No. 16 Order of the Eastern Star where he served for ten years, the Masons Olive Branch Lodge #37 for forty plus years as Master, Chapter #16 Worthy Patron Leah Court of Jericho, Chapter 24 Worthy Joshua AA Williams, Chapter #4 Order of Cyrene, Chief Engineer. In addition to his community involvement, he was a Carpenter in the construction industry for 50 years.
He leaves to cherish his fond memory his loving wife of almost 58 years, Geraldine Mouton Simon; three sons: Edward James Simon (Marsha), Troy Anthony Simon (Gwendolyn), and James Eldridge Simon (Janice) all of New Iberia, LA; one brother: Eldridge M. Simon (Martha) of Lafayette; thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; a special goddaughter: Sedra Lopez, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parent: Isaac Newton Simon Sr. and Hazel Lopez Simon; paternal grandparents: Sylvester and Della Livingston Simon; maternal grandparents: Lotar and Sedona Armstrong Lopez; two brothers: Curley Simon and Herman Simon; one sister: Shirley Simon Cooley; one great-granddaughter: Jade Simon.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt Thank You to the Staff and Nurses at Acadian Home Health for the caring services they provided.
