Isabelle C. Jackson, 71 of Cambridge passed away on November 21, 2023. She was born to the Late Evelyn Jones (Matthews) & Frederick Jones Sr. on February 27, 1952. She is survived by her daughters; Lisa Jackson, Ronnie Smith, Jasinda Smith & Charlette Smith. Her dear sisters; Vera Jones, Adel Daniels, Barbara Anne Williams and brother-in-law Bobby Williams. Grandchildren; Darcel Jackson, Lance Wheeler Jr., Jacinda Murphey, Kyle Wheeler, JaVona Harris, Justice Jackson Wheeler, Willie Harris, Zarriah Jackson and Justin Fitzpatrick; great-grand children; Quiana, Audreana Wheeler, Kaelynn Wheeler and her very best friend Ronda Holder. A host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her siblings; Allyson Carter, Frederick "Sonou" Jones, Sita Owens, Edna Brown, Dian Culpepper, Elaine King, Stephine Daniels, and Miriam Daniels.
Isabelle C. Jackson was born and raised in Boston where she grew up in Roxbury. She attended high school but would later drop out due to conceiving her daughter Lisa. Isabelle was a woman of many talents as she would like to call it and worked many jobs over the years. She worked for ABCD program for the city of Boston as a young adult. She later worked for the Peter Pan bus line, worked the election polls every time they came around and was a tax preparer for H&R Block for many years. She settled in Cambridge at the the then 808 Memorial Drive apartment complex and in 2001 she took custody of her grandchildren where she would devote her life to raising them for the next 20 plus years.
Isabelle was a remarkable woman who sacrificed her life to help raise her five grandkids, great-grandchildren, and she also had a huge impact on helping raise her grandchildren's friends too. She was known as a phenomenal cook and enjoyed cooking, she hosted plenty of card games for all her friends and family and loved to cook her weekly Sunday dinners. Her Thanksgivings meals were out of this world it was indeed her favorite holiday. She would always open her doors to her neighbors and grandkids' friends while she lived on the first floor of the building. She hosted annual summer cookouts by the Memorial Beach pool for all to enjoy.
Her kindness and generosity was felt by all who knew her. Some individuals come into our lives and leave a lasting impact on us. Isabelle was a woman who was a fun and loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister. She had a way of giving life and putting a smile on everyone's face that she came across. Her generosity knew no boundaries and she would give her last without hesitation. Her strength was undeniable, and her personality was one of a kind. Her presence brought joy and happiness to all those around her.
Funeral Service Friday, December 8, 2023, in the Parkway United Methodist Church, 158 Blue Hills Parkway, Milton at 11 o'clock. Visiting Hour 10 - 11 am. Interment St. Michael's Cemetery, Boston. Relatives and friends invited.
