John Cooke Hendershott "Cooke", Born in Newton, NJ June 7, 1938 to his loving parents Harold Clark Hendershott and Dorothy Hutt Hendershott.
Cooke served in the United States Navy in the Pacific from 1956 to 1959. He worked with New Jersey Power and light, Bass Engineering in Texas and Sussex Rural Electric until his retirement.
Cooke grew up surrounded by his family, many friends, and many good times by and many wonderful memories. John is survived by his children: Susan (Rick) Hughes of Beckville, TX, Lisa Setien of Palm Coast, FL, Sandy Hendershott of Palm Bay, FL, Jennifer (Scott) Windham of Newport Richie, FL, Jaycey (Bob) Tucker of Longview, TX, Brandice (Robert) Scudder-Hendershott of Jacksonville, FL, Fred M. (Tenna) Waddington of Longview, TX, his fifteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, his sister Mary Hendershott Bischoff of Newton, NJ as well as his Godchildren Ryan, Rachel and, Brad Thomas and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a grandson Kyle Curnett

Private graveside services will be held Tuesday April 15, 2025 at 2 PM in the Newton Cemetery, followed by a celebration of life at Bottom's Up Restaurant in Slate Hill, NY. Arrangements and online condolences through www.iliff-ruggierofuneralhome.com
