Jack Laposha of O'Fallon, Missouri passed away peacefully with family at his side one month shy of his 92nd birthday. Devoted husband of 60 years to the late Dolores M. Laposha (nee Reinkemeyer). First son of the late Herman M. Laposha, and brother to the late Jerry A. Laposha. Beloved father to Laura (Rob) London, Lynn (Casey) Harrison, Nick (Amy) Laposha, Lisa Quin, Dan (Karen) Laposha. Dear grandfather to Abby, Alex, Emily, Jake, Annie, Matt, Andrew, Conor, Isabelle, and Sophie. Proud great-grandfather to Lucas, Sarah, Miles, Ella, Emmie, Jack, Oscar, Noah, Bailey, Issac, April and Ivy.
Jack was born on November 4,1933 in North St. Louis. He grew up in Riverview Gardens, Missouri, attended St. Catherine of Alexandria church and grade school, and graduated from De Andreis High School in 1951. After two years of service in the U.S.Coast Guard aboard the Winona, Jack attended St.Louis University for one year.
Jack worked at Proctor and Gamble Manufacturing for 36 years, starting in 1955. He would hold various positions with the company, starting in maintenance, later moving to the lab as an analyst, then to the tower as an operator making soap powder. He finished his career as a project engineer. Like his father before him for 44 years, "Soapy Jack" was a dedicated employee of P&G.
Possessing an inquisitive mind, keen intellect and memory, Jack had an endless desire to learn, research, absorb knowledge, organize, and catalog information. He was forever "figuring" something out. No task or challenge was left undone. With his boundless energy, he over-engineered everything. Witty with a sharp sense of humor, he was sweet and playful, growing even more so in his later years. Jack was interested in everyone, gregarious and made friends easily. As conscientious and dependable as they come, he will be missed by all who knew him.
