Jack Ludwig passed away on July 18, 2025, at The Inn at Bear Trail with his devoted wife by his side. Jack was born on March 25, 1943 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

He is preceded in death by his parents and was particularly close to his mother Ida Baxter Ludwig. Also preceded in death by his siblings Nancy (David) Ludwig Flood, Jill Ludwig and stepdaughter Lisa Fugate and brother-in-law John (Diane) Scartz.

He is survived by his wife T.J. Scartz Ludwig, daughers Trinity (Steve) Rudisell and Theresa (Ronnie) Adams and stepson Robert Fugate, grandsons Scott (Shelbi) Adams and Bailey Rudisell, Nick Fugate and Jake Fugate, granddaughters Krista (Shannon) Slattery and Alexandra Rudisell, great-granddaughters Amelia Adams and Ada Adams, nephew J.D (Kim) Flood, niece Suzanne (John) Jeffrey and brother-in-law Jim (Deb) Scartz.

Upon graduation from high school, Jack enlisted in the Air Force. He was very proud of his service and there was no getting away from him when he spoke about his military experiences, the highlight of which was meeting John F. Kennedy. He was very grateful that he was able to receive his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Cincinnati, paid through the G.I. Bill.

After 25 years with Borden Dairy, Jack & T. J. moved to Las Vegas, where he found a job with the Department of Defense. He was so proud of the jacket that had a test sight insignia on it, as it always brought comments and questions.

Dogs were his passion. He was given one on the day he was born. He had many dogs throughout his life, most recent being Heidi, Stefani, Greta, Xena, and Milo.

Jack was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all, especially the wonderful residents of The Village of Preston Woods who always stepped up when needed.

As Jack would say, "Keep the Shiny Side Up".

Special thanks to the staff at The Inn at Bear Trail and Hospice 360.
