Jack Thompson Mewborn

Mr. Jack Thompson Mewborn, 81, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 18, 2025.
A visitation will take place on Friday from 1:30-3:30 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home. A private service will be held following the visitation.
Jack, son of the late George and Sarah Mewborn, was born on November 30, 1943, in Craven County. He graduated from La Grange High School in 1962. Jack served four years in the United States Air Force. He attended East Carolina University. He married the love of his life, Jacqueline "Jackie" Bost, on December 26, 1966. Together they had two sons, Jack "Todd" Mewborn, II and Warren Parker Mewborn, both of whom preceded him in death.
Jack started his automotive career in 1978 and opened Greenville Auto Brokers in 1991. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time at the beach. He especially loved golfing. He loved his boys and really loved his two granddaughters. He was an active member of Opendoor Church.
In addition to his parents and sons, Jack was preceded in death by his brother, George Conrad Mewborn.
Jack is survived by his wife of almost 59 years, Jackie Mewborn; granddaughters, Anna Parker Mewborn and Gracyn Allen May; daughter-in-law, Christy May (Dwyane); brother-in-law, John Rawlings; and two nieces and a nephew.
