It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jackie A. Derwacter who was born on July 22, 1953 in
Canton, Ohio, and left us on April 24, 2025. A dedicated and funny soul, Jackie was a beacon of light to her family and friends, and to the community of
Canton, Ohio where she resided. She was a generous individual who always put others before herself, constantly gifting beautiful smiles and hearty laughter.
Jackie was a phenomenal seamstress, best known for her meticulous work at a local dry cleaning business. She was also the proud recipient of the "Best Halloween 'not a cup' cup winner" award, showcasing her unique sense of humor. In her spare time, she found solace in her garden and in the pages of many books, her hobbies reflecting her love for nurturing growth and expanding her mind. As Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, "The creation of a thousand forests is in one acorn," Jakie's influence and love will continue to grow in the hearts of those she touched.
Family was at the core of Jackie's life. She was the beloved mother of Jennifer (Larry) Rumbaugh, Joy (Chad) Wilson, and John Derwacter Jr. She was a loving sister to Carolyn Green and Dennis Johanning. Her grandchildren, Eva (Brandon) Snyder, Devon Wilson, Cassandra Wilson, Gregory Leglise II, Wesley Caldwell, James Caldwell, and Gage Wilson, and her great-grandchildren, Tegan Snyder, Welyn Caldwell, Graesyn Wilson, and Phoenix Caldwell, were the apple of her eye. She is preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Mary Johanning, and her brothers, Gary, Jeff, and Kim Johanning.
