Willaim Derwacter Obituary
Harry was born in Zanesville on September 9, 1925. He is the son of Stanley and Sara (Head) Derwacter.
Harry graduated from The Ohio University with a degree in Civil Engineering. Harry worked as a self-employed surveyor. He was an avid outdoors man who enjoyed fishing, grouse and dove hunting, working his Brittany Spaniels, and trapshooting. He served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII.
Harry is survived by his three children, Dave (Carol) Derwacter, Jan (Don) Shroyer and Gail Smith; his five grandchildren; his ten great-grandchildren and his cousin, James Dunkle of Zanesville,
In addition to his parents, Harry is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Hazel (Mercer) Derwacter, whom he married on May 28, 1950; his half-brother, Thomas Bailey.
Private services have been held and Harry was laid to rest in Duncan Falls Cemetery beside his wife.
The Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls is caring for the Derwacter family.
