Jacqueline "Jackie" Ruth Smith passed away on July 6, 2022, after her courageous battle with many health issues. She joins her loving parents Jack and Ruth Begovich, as well as her two amazing brothers, Robert Territo and Samuel Territo. Jackie is survived by her two wonderful & loving sons Tommy Buras (Annette) and Eddie Smith, and her only beloved grandson Jack T. Buras. She also leaves behind a host of relatives including her treasured sister-in-law Myrt Territo, favorite cousin Lana Ray Schedler (Warren), and a host of nieces and nephews. Jackie was a proud graduate of West Jefferson High School. True to her character, Jackie was a genius with numbers and spent the majority of her working career at F.W. Woolworth until the company closed. From there she held similar positions with Wal-Mart and H&R Block. Jackie's final employment was working for her son Eddie at E.A. Biggs Demolition. Jackie was as close to a SuperMom that this world will ever know. She worked hard supporting her two sons in every activity they pursued, from band and Boy Scouts to every camping adventure in between. She instilled in her sons, love, kindness, and generosity. She surrounded herself with family and friends who enjoyed LSU baseball and football. Tiger Stadium was her second home. A life-long Saints fan, she cheered the loudest when they won the Super Bowl. BBQs and crawfish boils were her favorite kinds of gatherings. Smiles and laughter followed Jackie wherever she went. She loved looking her best, always wearing the latest fashion with matching jewelry. There was never a hair out of place and her nails were always beautiful. Minutes before her passing, Tommy & Eddie told her how much they loved her, and each gave her a kiss. She will be remembered every day, especially during celebrations and holidays. Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway in Harvey will be held Tuesday, July 12, 2022 beginning at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be held at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Gretna.
