Jackie Lee "Jack" Smith Jr.

Jackie Lee Smith Jr., affectionately known as Jack, passed away on October 11, 2025, at the age of 62, surrounded by love and warmth in Mishawaka, IN. Born on October 8, 1963, in South Bend, IN, Jack's early years were filled with the bustling energy of a large and close-knit family. His warm smile and generous spirit were a beacon of light to everyone who knew him.
Jack was preceded in death by his loving father, Jackie Lee Smith Sr.; his mother, Barbara (Callantine) Smith; his stepsister, Debra Dean; step-nephew, Michael Hoffman; and stepmother, Beverly Smith. These losses shaped Jack's understanding of the delicate nature of life and instilled in him a profound appreciation for the time spent with his loved ones.
He is survived by his cherished family: his siblings Betty (Anthony) Olivier, Janet Anglin, Rita Smith, and Roy Smith; his adoring nieces and nephews, Barbara (Bill), Tonya, Adam, Greg, Shane, and David, who will fondly remember their Uncle Jack for his playful teasing and endless support. Jack's legacy will continue to live through his great-nieces Asia, Sasha, Jade, Isabella, Jocelyn, Chyann, and Amberlynn, as well as his great-nephews Nathan, Tyler, Dorian, Wyatt, Vincent, Frank, and Noah, who all brought immense joy into his life.
A special acknowledgment must be made to Sharlene Kobb, his good friend and caregiver for many years, whose companionship and steadfast care provided Jack with comfort and laughter even through his most challenging times. Also, Karen Moore and her children Jovana, and Dasan Kobb, whom Jack was a very loving Uncle to.
Memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2025, from 3-4 p.m. Service will follow the visitation starting at 4 p.m. all being held at Clay United Methodist Church, 52866 N. Ironwood Rd. South Bend, IN 46635. Pastor Brian Durand will officiate the service. Burial will be private.
