Jacqueline Margaret Popson, 66, of Dunmore, PA passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 19, 2024, while surrounded by family at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton, PA. Jackie, as she was better known, was born on August 25, 1957, in Queens, NY, to the late James and Margaret (Nolte) Boyd.
Jackie earned her degree in accounting from the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University. While her career path was ever-changing, she recently retired from Navient in Wilkes-Barre, PA. She had a love for animals and was rarely without a pet cat or dog. In her free time, Jackie enjoyed reading and shopping, visiting the beach and casinos, being outdoors, flowers and gardening, and most importantly, spending time with her family.
Jackie passed away one day prior to her 22nd wedding anniversary with her beloved husband Gary Popson of Dunmore. She is also survived by her daughters, Nicole (Jason) Stefanowicz of Dickson City, PA, Danielle Cardinale of Cape Coral, FL, and Jennifer (Kyle) Sharp of Lansing, NY; grandchildren, Grayson and Madison Stefanowicz and Owen, Oliver and Harper Sharp; brother, James (Jessie) Boyd of Stroudsburg, PA; and nephew, Ryan Boyd of Charleston, SC.
In keeping with her wishes, funeral services will be private. Jackie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the ICU staff at Geisinger CMC for their compassionate care.
