Jacquelyn Gilbert Obituary
Born on July 2, 1942, in Arlington, Georgia, Jackie was the daughter of the late Aubrey Killebrew and Lorene Williford Killebrew Rowland. During her teenage years, she moved with her family to Lakeland, Florida, where she graduated from Lakeland High School in 1960. Jackie dedicated 36 years of service to Publix Employees Federal Credit Union, where she was deeply valued and respected. Her role as Vice President of Lending was especially meaningful to her, as it allowed her to do what she loved most – help people. Through her work, she took great pride in assisting countless individuals in achieving their financial goals and dreams.
Jackie was known for her warm heart, sharp wit, and love of life. She enjoyed playing golf, reading, shopping, and spending time with her family. She also had a passion for supporting meaningful causes. Two charities especially close to her heart were the Alzheimer's Association and Disabled American Veterans.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Michelle Spivey of Lakeland, Anita Kinsey of Bartow, and Angie Shouppe of Homosassa; grandchildren John "Joey" Kish, Todd Skillings, Amanda Shouppe Roebuck, Ciara Spivey, and D.W. Shouppe; and her great-grandson, Carter Kish. Jackie was preceded in death by her brother, Geley "Jerome" Killebrew; her sister, Janet Killebrew Tyson; and her niece, Jennifer Tyson.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Lakeland Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 2125 S. Bartow Road, Lakeland, Florida. Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. prior to the service. The service will be officiated by Pastor Mark Bedwell of Ardella Baptist Church.
