WINSTED -
James "Jim" Albert Jackson, 70, a shining example of courage and resilience, passed away on January 3, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Ruth (Bridges) Jackson for 25 wonderful years. Born on February 8, 1954 in Zion Grove, Pennsylvania; the son of the late Albert and Alice (Kaszmetskie) Jackson. Jim's life was a testament to his unwavering dedication to his family, community, and country.
As a proud United States Marine Corps veteran, Jim's legacy continues through his children and grandchildren, who will carry on his values of bravery, compassion, and kindness. Through his business ventures and community involvement, Jim left a lasting impact on those who knew him, inspiring future generations to strive for excellence.
Jim's illustrious service in the United States Marine Corp was a shining reflection of his devotion to his country, motivating his youngest son, Evan Jackson, to emulate his father's footsteps and become a proud United States Marine.
As a visionary entrepreneur, Jim successfully managed Carl's True Value in Winsted, before turning his dream into reality by owning and operating True Value of Winchester, now entrusted to his youngest daughter, Molly Jackson, who diligently perpetuates his heritage.
In addition to his wife, he leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, his family, including children Nathaniel Jackson (Jennifer) of North Carolina, Amoreena Shoonmaker (Bobby Willis) of New Hampshire, Seth Jackson of Torrington, Levi Jackson (Lindsay) of North Carolina, Evan Jackson and Molly Jackson, both of Winsted, as well as stepchildren Heather Smith (Michelle) of Thomaston and Robert Smith of Torrington, will deeply miss him; and his grandchildren, whose smiles brightened his life Logan, Conner, Shayla, Kiera, and Riley Jackson of North Carolina, Emaline Shoonmaker and Isabella Willis of New Hampshire, Reid and Emmy Jackson of North Carolina and Tessa Smith of Thomaston; his sisters, Diane Treskloasky and Veronica Holderman of Pennsylvania, and Sally Rygula of Wisconsin, all of whom he deeply loved. In addition to those mentioned above, Jim leaves behind his mother-in-law, Linda Withee of Winsted, with whom he shared a profound bond from the moment they met.
Jim, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and exceptional individual, will be profoundly missed, and his memory will continue to shine brightly through his children, grandchildren, and family, whom he cherished above all else.
