James Michael "Mike" Ashby, age 57 of Estill Springs, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Vanderbilt-Harton Hospital in Tullahoma. He was born in Frankfort, Kentucky, on January 8, 1968. Mike had formerly worked at Batesville in the Specialty Department for ten years. An avid sportsman, he enjoyed bass fishing and deer hunting as well as watching all sports on television, especially cheering for the Atlanta Braves and the Tennessee Titans. But most of all, Mike, a loving husband and father, was all about family, and cherished the time spent together. He was a member of Homestead Way Church in Tullahoma. Mike was preceded in death by his father, James O. Ashby Jr; niece, Kacey Nicole Chasteen, father-in-law, Clifford Hunt, and brother-in-law, Clifton Hunt. He is survived by his loving wife of twenty-two years, Sueann Ashby; mother, Peggy Burt Ashby; children, Amber Ashby (Dusty Sanders), Logan Michael Ashby (Mercedes Hillis), Tiffany Stephens, and Tyler Hill; grandchildren, Meah Sanders, Malaki Stephens, Samuel Stephens, Noah Stephens, Carly Hill, and Caleb Hill; siblings, Stacey (Kerry) Chasteen, and Bryan (Sarah) Ashby; mother-in-law, Ann Hunt; sister-in-law, Jill (Doug) Haney; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be from 11am-2pm on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Bro.
