James Bedway Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ratterman Brothers Funeral Home - St. Matthews on Jun. 22, 2022.
James Paul "Jim" Bedway, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 18, 2022, he was 69 years old.
Jim was born September 1, 1952, in Bloomsburg.PA. to the late James Joseph Bedway and Regina Bell Patton Bedway. Jim was a very dedicated individual in all of his accomplishments.
Jim believed in living life on the edge. He was an avid sky diver, having participated in Thunder Over Louisville for many years. Jim waws adventurous, never leaving a dull moment to be had by scuba diving, hiking, climbing and backpacking some of the most well-known mountains in the world. He also enjoyed fishing and throwing rocks off of the dock with his grandson Aiden. He liked camping and the more primitive it was the better and a great connoisseur of chocolate milk it had to be just right and that is how he got his nickname "Chocolate".
He enjoyed and loved all these things, but what he truly cherished more than all tis was a family, his daughter, and two grandchildren, creating memories to last a lifetime. He will be missed by so many people whose lives he touched but will never be forgotten for his love of life and never letting anything stand in his way of having a great time.
Jim is preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth Whitmer, and his sister Maria Lapinsky.
He is survived by his daughter, Jamele Bedway Zemba; two grandchildren, Aiden Bedway Zemba and Penelope Bedway Santana; brother Ronald Bedway (Debbie); nephews and niece, Ronnie Lapinsky (Melissa), R.C. Bedway and Richelle Bedway.
A memorial service to celebrate Jim's Life will be held at 6pm Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Ratterman Brothers Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road, St. Matthews. Visitation 5pm until time of service.
The real party to celebrate Jim will be following services at the funeral home at a venue to be determined.
