James D. "Jim" Beineke, 78, of Fort Thomas, passed away on October 26, 2025 at St. Elizabeth Hospice Center in Edgewood, KY.
Jim was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on March 3, 1947 to Robert and Marjorie (Williams) Beineke.
Jim was a lifelong resident of Fort Thomas and graduated from Highlands High School in 1965 in the same class with his wife of 57 years, Deanna, whom he met in fourth grade. He attended Northern Kentucky University and graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 1971. He began his professional career with Provident Bank before purchasing Pike 27 Auto Parts where he was the owner and manager for more than 25 years until his retirement. Jim was a volunteer for the Fort Thomas Board of Adjustment for forty years, retiring in the spring of 2025. He and his wife were honored for their service to the City of Fort Thomas by their selection as Grand Marshalls for the annual 4th of July parade this year. Jim served several terms as deacon or elder at First Presbyterian Church in Fort Thomas, and was an active member of the Campbell County Jaycees until he aged out. He was also a member of Cincinnati Warbirds.
Jim had two passions for his leisure time. One was boating, moving from a small runabout for waterskiing as a teen to his current houseboat and Seadoo on the Ohio River. His favorite place to relax was on the deck of the Misty Lin as it rocked gently on the dock. His other passion was Honor Flight Tri-State. He missed the conflict in Vietnam because of a high lottery number, but he was born with a love of country and a sense of gratitude for all veterans who served. He served as a Guardian or staff support member on 11 flights with Honor Flight Tri-State and became a member of the scheduling team two years ago, serving the organization for 16 years, never missing a welcome celebration for the veterans returning from their Honor Flight.
He was preceded in death by his parents. James is survived by his wife Deanna (Burleson) Beineke, a son Clay (Tammy) Beineke, daughter Lindsay (Geoff Edwards) Beineke, brothers, Tom (Marcia) Beineke and Dan (Dianne) Beineke, a sister Betsy Beineke and grandchildren, Merryn Edwards and Rowan Edwards. He is also survived by eleven nieces and nephews, one of whom described him fondly as the "fun" uncle.
Celebration of Life will be held from 3 PM to 7 PM Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the Fort Thomas Community Center, otherwise known as the Mess Hall, in Tower Park in Fort Thomas, Kentucky 41075. At 5:00 PM, there will be an opportunity to share memories of Jim to those gathered.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Honor Flight Tri-State Headquarters 8627 Calumet Way Cincinnati, OH 45249. Condolences may be given at www.dmefuneral.com. Dobbling, Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Homes caring
