James Burns Obituary

James grew up in Houston and graduated from Aldine High School. On July 29, 1966 he married Veeda Pearl Smith. James was an avid hunter and loved solving puzzles. He was a faithful disciple of Jesus.
Survivors include his son, James E. Burns and wife, Jennifer of Hondo; daughter, Lysandra Burns of Dallas; grandchildren, Crystal, April, Dakota, Michelle, Shaina, and Courtney; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of fifty-eight years, Veeda Smith; granddaughter, Emily; and brother, Roy F. Burns, Jr.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 11, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home, with a Eulogy and Prayer Service at 4:00 p.m. A Graveside Service and Interment will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Garden of Memories, 1101 Antoine Drive, Houston, Texas 77055.
