James J. "Jimmy" Castine

It is with great sadness that the family of James J. "Jimmy" Castine, 62, of Salem, NH, announce his passing on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at Parkland Medical Center, Derry. Jimmy was blessed to have many roles as a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, son and friend.
He was born in Haverhill on February 17, 1961, son of the late Robert A. and Dorothy R. (Millett) Castine.
Jimmy worked as a Foreman at Specialized Roofing in Billerica, MA for over 30 years and was a valued member of their team.
He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved fishing, boating, traveling, and spending time with his grandchildren. Being with family always made him smile. He enjoyed teaching his grandchildren how to fish so they could catch the big one. His biggest impact was in the community. He was loved and known by everyone. He always had a story to tell and was willing to stop and talk to anyone.
In addition to his parents, Jimmy is predeceased by his daughter Kelly Dow and his brother Robert Castine, Jr.
He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Cindy (McCutcheon) Castine, his son Zach Gruber of Fort Wayne, IN, son Richard "DeJay" Morehouse of Campton, NH, his brother Philp Castine and his wife Hilary of Denver, CO, son in law Ronnie Dow, Sr of Raymond, NH, daughter in law Robin Hamel of Raymond, NH grandchildren Nikki Morehouse and Frankie Condo of Salem, NH, Ronnie Dow, Jr. and Shea Dow of Raymond, NH, Katelynn Morehouse of Haverhill, MA, Taytum Florent and Alysia Florent of Haverhill, MA and Gracelynn Gruber of Fort Wayne, IN. He also leaves behind several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his calling hours on Friday December 29, from 4-6 PM, at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. Funeral service and graveside will be private and at the convenience of the family.
