James M. Conley

James M. "Bluster" Conley, 79, of Methuen, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Lawrence in 1946, Jim was the beloved son of the late John and Florence (Reidy) Conley. He graduated from Lawrence High School, Class of 1964, and continued his education at the Andover Institute of Business, where he earned his Associate's Degree. He went on to build a successful career as a Safety Supervisor for National Grid, where his dedication and leadership left a lasting impact.

Jim was the loving husband of Kathleen J. (Carney) Conley, with whom he shared 49 years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. He was the adored father of Nancy O'Neill and her wife Lisa, and Colleen DiPietro and her husband Joseph, both of New Hampshire. He was the cherished grandfather of McKenna and Jack DiPietro, who brought him endless joy, and the wonderful brother of Eileen Garabedian and Timothy Conley. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews who will remember his warmth and humor. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings John Conley, Thomas Conley, Kathleen Dolan, and Michael Conley.

Jim was known for his unique sense of humor and his gift for storytelling, which could light up any room. He loved golf, was a devoted Boston sports fan, and enjoyed the thrill of horse racing. A Bud Light in hand was often his signature, a simple pleasure that matched his down-to-earth nature. Saturdays were sacred to him, first as days spent taking his daughters out, and later as treasured outings with his grandchildren. He and Kathleen also shared a love of travel, creating memories together that spanned far beyond their hometown.

Jim's legacy is one of love, laughter, and devotion to family. He will be remembered not only for his accomplishments but for the joy he brought to those around him, the stories he told, and the traditions he created.

Visiting Hours will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen. His Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 pm in the Funeral Home Chapel.
