James C. "Jay" Curry, 51, of Boxford, passed away on March 31, 2024, the evening of Easter Sunday, following a short but fierce 5-month battle with lung cancer.
He leaves behind his caregiver, twin flame, and best friend Michelle Rizzo Reny and her husband Michael of Boxford, his special supportive aunts Beverly Curry of Wakefield and Janice Curry Johnson and her husband Gregg of Reading, his AA brothers of the Kelly House in Wakefield, and Sarin P.
Jay passed away as a sober man, just as he had planned.
Jay was the son of Marcia (Gearty) Curry of Maine and the late James Curry of Malden, grandson of the late Jack and Jean Gearty of Maine, and Patrica (Dingivan) Curry of Malden, brother of Brenden Curry and Amanda Hogg also of Maine and Niki DellaPiana Salamone of Saugus.
Jay had many more friends, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was employed by St. John's Prep in Danvers for close to five years in the facilities department. He was devoted to his job, his Prep family and its campus.
Jay was also a former employee of the Department of Public Works in Melrose.
Giving to others was part of his generous nature. Jay would be the first to lend a helping hand whenever he saw the need. He will be missed by so many.

He was a funny man, great dancer, silly and a huge ladies man. Having been good friends with him years ago. He loved to party and watch football. We had a good connection and he will be missed. I didn´t know he had been sick glad he is at peace. Deepest sympathies to his mom and family. He used to talk about his family and living in Wells, Maine. Fly high Jay and always remember our times together I have some fun memories with you.
