James "Jim" David James "Jim" David, 72, of Pittsburgh, passed away on July 15, 2024 after a long battle with chronic heart failure. Jim was born on January 31, 1952 in Canonsburg to parents, David David and Ruth Elizabeth Shepherd David. He went on to attend the University of Pittsburgh where he was an All-American athlete in track and field. He was a beloved member of his community and a Navy veteran. Jim had two children who he cherished dearly. In 1992, he met his wife, Debbie, at Yellow Cab - where they both worked at the time. In his free time, Jim enjoyed history and sports. Both of which he loved teaching his family about. He worked full time as a cab driver until December of 2023. He found joy in getting to know his customers and often referred to his regulars as some of his closest friends. Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Debbie David; parents, David David and Ruth Elizabeth Shepherd David; brothers, John, Peter, and David "Bippy" David; and sister, Anna Smith. He is survived by his son, Sean David; daughter, Brittany (David) Bloome; daughter-in-law, Susan (Ricchuito) Bloome; siblings, Charles David, Kathy Boehmer, Mary Alice (Reed) Rhoads, and Judy David; and many nieces and nephews. Jim will be dearly missed by all those who love him. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 12:00 pm until the time of the memorial service, which will be held at 1:30 pm at D'Alessandro Funeral Home & Crematory Ltd; 4522 Butler Street Pittsburgh, PA, 15201.
