James DeGelormo Obituary

Published by Legacy on Mar. 24, 2022.
James P. DeGelormo Jr.
November 27, 1970 - March 23, 2022
New Windsor, NY
James P. DeGelormo Jr. "Jimmy", a long time resident of New Windsor, NY passed away at his home on Wednesday, March 23, 2022.
Jimmy was a 1989 graduate of John Jay High School where he held the section wrestling championship and was 11th in the nation. Jimmy was a member of Black Rock Fish and Game Club, the UFC, and a member of Gold's Gym for over 30 years. Jimmy had a larger than life personality and was a beacon for all who knew him! To know Jimmy or to be in his light was a blessing. His passions were his beautiful loving wife, Stacy, his work, and his 3 dogs. Jimmy spent all of his free time engulfed in and educating everyone on MMA, wrestling, UFC, motocross, and any other one-on-one sport. Jimmy also had a love for the gym and working out, where he attended almost daily since he was 14 and competed all through his twenties when he gained the infamous name "Flinger". Although he was busy, his favorite things were quiet times at home with his wife and fur babies, and dinner out with his great friends and family. Jimmy's smile was contagious, his constant will to help anyone in need was his word. The impact and sadness that he will leave behind is beyond measure. Although he is no longer here with us physically, he has touched so many people's lives. His legacy of courage, strength and profound kindness will live through all of us. Please keep him close to your heart.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife Stacia (Crisci) DeGelormo, his beloved fur babies Roxy, Adelion, and Pearle; his father-in-law Alfonso P. Crisci; his brothers and sisters-in law Dominick and Bonnie Crisci, Greg and Toni Crisci, and Raul and Danean (Crisci) Rodriguez; his nieces and nephews Jillian Crisci, Daniel Crisci, Georgiana Crisci, Alexandra Rodriguez, and Diego Rodriguez; his aunts and uncles Barbara and Gordon Allen, Carmella and Bruce Washburn, Kenny and Anna Washburn; his cousins Chrissy and Bill Irwin, Jill Allen, Nicole Washburn, Amy Muscat, Karen DeSimone, Tammy Klact, Kim Speviale, Kenneth Washburn, and Regina Manzi; and countless best friends. Jimmy is predeceased by his parents Roxanne (Valentine) and James DeGelormo Sr., his mother-in-law Mary (DeSantis) Crisci, his Aunt Paulette Donnelly, and his cousins Scott Washburn, Katherine Donnelly.
A service to celebrate Jimmy's life will be held at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh, NY on Tuesday, March 29th from 2 – 7 pm. A Mass will take place at Sacred Heart Church on Wednesday, March 30th at 10am, with burial following in Cold Spring Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to donate in Jimmy's memory to the Hudson Valley SPCA, 940 Little Britain Road, New Windsor, NY 12553.

It is very painful and shocking for all that know you. I pray for your soul to rest in peace now and always Jimmy. Stacy may God give you the strength, guidance and peace of mind now and always...

The memories I have of Jimmy are few but very special. Meeting him as a young man from our neighborhood, receiving a memorial fruit gift tray (the serving tray is used everyday-a forever reminder of the love and generosity of both Jimmy and Stacy), and finally seeing Jimmy with his dad at a pizzeria where he made sure he said hello.
Jimmy´s warmth, sincerity and kindness will be a lasting memory.

No words will express how broken my soul is at this very moment .... the excruciating wound I have in my heart is unbearable.....It feels like I've lost a limb....The planet earth has surely lost one of it's best....I am blessed to have had you in my life brother..We encouraged eachother, laughed together, cried together and watched eachother grow over the last 35 years..There was never a time that you didn't bragg on me or say how great I was...even though i knew i wasn't that great....you made me feel like I was a super hero....but in fact you were truly my greatest friend, my brother.....My Super Hero ..We will be together again one day..one day..Stay strong Stacy I'm here if you need me..your loving friend Joe
