Kirsten Stammer Fury of Sunnyside, Queens, passed away peacefully in hospice care on September 22, 2025, supported by those who loved her deeply. Born in Manhattan on June 1, 1967, she was the daughter of Donald K. Stammer and the late Carol Leo Stammer.
A scholar, a professional and beloved sister and daughter, Kirsten was a 1985 graduate of John Jay High School, East Fishkill, N.Y. She earned an undergraduate degree from Rice University in 1989, and a MA in Theology from Harvard University in 1994 and a PhD in Performance Art from New York University in 2004.
Kirsten dedicated much of her career to advancing the global legal industry, serving as a Business Development Manager in the Global Technology Industry Group at White and Case LLP, where she was admired for her intellect, candor, integrity and tireless commitment to excellence.
She is survived by her father, Dr. Donald K. Stammer, stepmother, Christine L. Stammer, her siblings Kimberly Stammer of CA, Christopher Stammer of VA and stepbrother, Judson La Londe of, NJ. She leaves behind beloved nephews Valik, Finlay and Oliver, nieces Beckett and Amalie and her aunt, Karen Sterrett of CT. Kirsten was predeceased by her aunt Beverly MacLay and several cousins.
Kirsten will be remembered for her sharp wit, deep empathy and lifelong dedication to critical thinking, learning and spirituality. She touched many lives with her kindness, grace and sense of humor.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Kirsten's memory to Planned Parenthood, the ACLU or other organizations whose missions resonate with her lifelong commitment to justice and compassion.
Further arrangements will be shared with family at a later time.
