James Dickerson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Southern Mississippi Funeral Services on Jan. 22, 2026.
James Anthony Dickerson passed away in Round Rock, Texas on January 12, 2026, at the tender age of 25, leaving behind a legacy of exceptional craftsmanship, bravery and service that touched all who knew him.

James was born on August 30, 2000, in Gulfport, Mississippi to Tessa Dickerson. Growing up under the loving guidance of his grandmother, Julia Graham, and his Step-

grandfather, Lysle Graham, he was raised in Long Beach, Mississippi. Their influence and care helped shape James into the extraordinary man he became.

A proud Army veteran, James served his country as a specialist aircraft mechanic with honor and dedication. Outside of the military, he found joy and purpose in working on antique cars. His passion for vintage automobiles reflected his patience, creativity, and ability to see potential where others saw rust. His gentle nature shone brightest in the time he spent at animal shelters, where he found joy in caring for dogs and giving them the affection they deserved. Though his life ended far too soon, James will be remembered for his ability to breathe life into old machines, as well as into the lives of those lucky enough to be around him and his love for animals.

He is survived by his grandmother, Julia Graham; his grandfather, James N. Dickerson; his sister, Alexandria Hasley.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Tessa Dickerson and his step-grandfather, Lysle Graham.

Visitation will be held at Southern Mississippi Funeral Services on January 30, 2026 from 10:00am - 12:00pm with service immediately following at 12:00pm. Interment will be held at the Biloxi National Cemetery for a 1:30pm burial.
