Mr. James Lewis “Jimmy” Dixon, Jr., age 78, a resident of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Rob Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 1:30 PM, prior to the service at the funeral home. Following the service, Mr. Dixon will be laid to rest in Maury Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with military honors provided by the United States Army. Born on June 5, 1947, in Anderson, Indiana, Jimmy was the son of the late James Lewis Dixon, Sr. and the late Pauline Wheeler Dixon. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He married Patricia Lynch Dixon, and in 2024, the couple joyfully renewed their vows, celebrating 20 years of marriage.
Jimmy worked for Saturn and later retired from General Motors after 33 years of dedicated service. He was a faithful and active member of Servants Heart Worship Center in Columbia, Tennessee and, before suffering a stroke, was a talented drummer in a gospel band. He enjoyed yard work, spending time with his family and friends, and bringing joy to those around him. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his loving wife, Patricia Dixon, he is survived by his son, Trent (Cola) Dixon; daughters, Gina Armstrong and Tina Sprinkler; a very devoted step daughter , Minister Felithia Ballard that lovingly called him “Pops,” and goddaughter, Angela Floyd, brothers, Lee Stover and Bobby; eleven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
