James Irwin "Tink" Early, 63, of Moulton, passed away Friday, August 22, 2025. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Brent Gillespie officiating. Burial will be at Smyrna Baptist Cemetery.
Born on October 6, 1961 to the late JP and Shirley Cartee Early, Tink was a genealogist who had researched and written many books for families in Lawrence County. He loved his family and spending time with his six great-grandkids. Tink also loved hiking in Bankhead and simply being outdoors.
Survivors include his daughter, Judy (Chris) White, grandchildren, Jasmine (Colt) Parker, Jathan (Caitlin) Greer, and Lexy (Quin) Rothwell; great-grandchildren, Stetson Parker, Sterling Parker, Jasper Greer, Elizabeth Greer, Sutton Parker, and Haven Greer; brothers, Jerry (Cynthia) Early, and Johnny Early; nephew, Xander Early; cousin, Mitzi Cartee; and other extended family dear to his heart.
James was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Tim Early.
Pallbearers will be Chris White, Jathan Greer, Johnny Early, Colt Parker, Jason "Hacksaw" Barnes, and Brian Lovelady. Honorary pallbearer will be Jerry Early.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lawrence County Archives office or Wild South in Moulton.
