James Edwards Obituary

Jim was a partner in the law firm of Ahmuty, Demers & McManus for 38 years. He enjoyed hosting friends and family at his home for pizza, barbecues and a famous wedding after party, but he was most proud of his yearly Thanksgiving gatherings.
Jim was generous, fun-loving, hard-working and he cursed a lot. He loved a good martini, nights by the fire pit, seeing live music and a good round of golf. Most of all, Jim was a family guy and a friend to all.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Debra, and was the father of daughter, Emily (Jeffrey). He is also survived by his brother Bob Edwards (Patty), sister Cindy Ekblom (John), and his twin sister Jackie Edwards. He was predeceased by his sister Ginny Russell (Michael). He is also survived by his brother-in-law Paul DeGennaro, his Aunt Fran Tropiano, and his many cousins, nieces and nephews.

To Jim's family: I was shocked to hear this terrible news. I just saw Jim in Kings Supreme a month or so ago and we were joking that we were the only two lawyers in NY State that were at the same firm for 37 years. We couldn't decide if that was a smart thing or a dumb thing. Then we laughed.
I met Jim as an adversary years and years ago. We were probably in our mid thirties. He was always a gentleman regardless of us being on opposite sides. A nice fellow all around, a good guy. My condolences to all of you.

I grew up with Jim around the block in Viceroy at the "dead end". He was a great guy. My deepest condolences
