James William Hoemann, affectionately known as Jim, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2025, in Weldon Spring, Missouri, surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 13, 1928, in Washington, Missouri, Jim lived a life full of warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to his loved ones and community. He lived a faithful Christian life and was a devoted member of Grace Chapel Lutheran in Bellefontaine Neighbors, where he served as an Elder, Usher Captain, and Volunteer for many years.

Jim had a distinguished career, devoting 34 years to McDonnell Douglas Aircraft as a Budget and Manpower Analyst. His commitment to excellence and ethical service carried over into all aspects of his life. A proud veteran, Jim served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War, achieving the rank of Infantry Sergeant from February 1951 to November 1952.

Education was a cornerstone of Jim’s values; he graduated with a Bachelor's in Business Administration from Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville. This foundation enabled him to provide for his adored family, which he cherished.

Jim was known for being kind-hearted and warm, a good conversationalist who never met a stranger. A true servant leader, he loved helping others and was a wonderful father to all. His beloved children, Paul (Amy) Hoemann and Christine Hoemann, along with his grandchildren—Elise (Jael) Chambers, Benjamin (Lizzie) Striker, Natalie Cox, Daniel (Alexandra) Striker, and Anna (Fiancé Keaton Clark) Hoemann, great-grandchildren, Asa Chambers, Elias Chambers, Mallory Striker, and William Striker, and his son-in-law, Patrick Cox—have many cherished memories that paint a picture of a devoted father and grandfather.

Among his proudest accomplishments were his family, including his loving wife of 67 years, the late Carol Hoemann, and their shared life of love and laughter. Jim found joy in simple pleasures such as working in his yard, woodworking—creating toyboxes for his grandchildren—and playing golf. He enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals and Mizzou games, sharing these treasured times with his family. He held dear memories of family vacations and spending time with his children, watching sports, and supporting them through their education and many activities.

He is preceded in death by his devoted wife, Carol Hoemann; his parents, Henry and Pauline Hoemann; three daughters, Lisa Cox, Sarah Hoemann, and Deborah Hoemann; and his brother, Virgil H. Hoemann.

A visitation will be held on March 3, 2025, at Breeze Park - Lutheran Senior Services in Weldon Spring from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM, followed by a funeral service at the same location at 10:30 AM. He will be laid to rest at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Washington at 12:30 PM.

Jim Hoemann touched the lives of many through his kindness, wisdom, and love, and he will be dearly missed.
