James L. "Jim" Hughes

James L. "Jim" Hughes of Goshen, Alabama passed away peacefully with family, at the age of 89, on November 10, 2025. He is fondly remembered by his family as a role model and a caregiver. In his life he quietly loved the people who were important to him, often taking his grandchildren on vacation to Tennessee and spending countless hours with them at his home, out buying new toys, riding his tractor, fishing, or gardening. When his wife became sick, Jim never left her side. His family and his garden were the loves of his life. His service will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery in Goshen at 2:00 pm on Thursday, November 13th with Rev. Bryan May officiating and Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.
Mr. Hughes is survived by grandchildren: James F. Hughes (Jamelyn), Curtis Hughes, and Grace Hughes; great granddaughter Caroline Hughes; daughter-in-law Chantal Hughes and sister Rebecca Wilkes.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Louie Hughes; wife Annis Hughes; sons Randy Hughes and Ricky Hughes; sisters: Julia Davis and Cora Frye and brothers: Leven Hughes and Charles Hughes.
