James R. Ingman Jr., affectionately known as Randy, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 26, 2023, in
Evanston, IL. Born on January 24, 1947, in
Lake City, FL, Randy was a beloved Father, Grandfather, Brother, and Friend.
Randy was a man of many talents and interests, but his greatest passion was his family. He was a loving husband to his late wife, Annie L. Ingman, and a devoted father to his daughters Brenda Rogers, Kimberly Howard, and Christina Celaya. His family circle expanded to include his sons-in-law, Donald Rogers, Keith Howard, and Donald Celaya, as well as his Daughter-in-law, Joanne Ingman. Randy was a devoted Grandfather to his many Grandbabies and Great-grandbabies; who brought him immense joy and happiness.
Randy was a proud graduate of DeVry University. He served his country honorably as a Veteran of the Navy before embarking on a successful career as an electrical technician at Snap-On. Randy's technical skills were well respected, and he was known for his ability to fix anything he could get his hands on.
Aside from his work and family, Randy had a wide range of interests. He was a self-professed Star Trek fan and loved Harley Davidson motorcycles. His interests extended to cars, tools, and anything that needed fixing or that could be taken apart. His curiosity and love for learning were infectious, and he encouraged those around him to pursue their interests with the same fervor.
Randy is also survived by his sister, Janis Gianos, and her family, as well as his brother, Kevin Ingman, and his family. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will fondly remember their Uncle Randy. He was a pillar of support to his family and friends, offering a helping hand whenever it was needed. His selfless, courageous, and loving nature made him a loved figure in his community.
In the words of the famous author, Maya Angelou, "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." This quote perfectly encapsulates Randy's life. He was a man of action, not just words. His kindness and love will remain etched in the hearts of all those who knew him.
Randy's life was a testament to his love for his family and his dedication to his work. He was a man who lived his life with passion and purpose, and his legacy will live on through the many lives he touched. His family and friends will always remember him as a loving father, a devoted grandfather, a supportive brother, and a true friend.
In passing, Randy leaves behind a legacy of love, courage, and selflessness. His memory will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him. As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate his life, remembering the joy he brought into our lives and the lessons he taught us. Rest in peace, Randy, you will be missed dearly.
A Life Celebration Gathering will take place at Justen's Round Lake Funeral Home, 222 N Rosedale Court Round Lake IL 60073 on Thursday August 3, 2023 from 9:30 A.M. to 11 A.M. A Life Celebration Service will start at 11 A.M. at the funeral home with interment to follow at Elm Lawn Cemetery in Elmhurst IL.
