James “Jim” Dallas Campbell, 79, of New Castle, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at his residence. He was born on February 10, 1945, in Mill Springs, Kentucky, a son of the late Kendrick Dallas and Virginia (Brock) Campbell.
Jim was a 1964 graduate of Hagerstown High School and dedicated 31 years of service to Ingersoll Steel before retiring. Known for his mechanical expertise and resourcefulness, Jim was a “jack of all trades”. Whether fixing something himself or taking the time to learn how, he was always ready to lend a helping hand.
Jim was not only a skilled mechanic but also a man of deep kindness and humility. He was a wonderful husband who cherished his family above all. He took great pride in his children and grandchildren, always sharing in their accomplishments and supporting them in every way he could.
Jim is survived by his wife of 49 years, Kathy Campbell; children, Kim (Carla) Campbell, Robert (April) Campbell; Debbie Mathis (Toby), Denise (Britt) Todd and Shannon Campbell; grandchildren, Joe, Ashley, BK, Jeff, Kasey, Corey, Perry, Claar, Carli and Cassidi; 15 great grandchildren; siblings, Glena (Johnny) Conwell, Judy Compton, Jeanetta (Mike) Goens, Roxie (Chuck) Burket and Bobby (Sandy) Campbell. Jim was also survived by his cherished canine child, Doodle.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his daughter, Jamie Lynn; grandson, Cole Phelps; brother, Glen Campbell; brother-in-law, Roger Compton.
Services will be held at 1:00pm Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Paul Davis Officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 12:00pm until the time of service on Tuesday. In Lieu of flowers please may a donation in Jim’s memory to the Henry County Humane Society, 11 Midway Dr. New Castle, IN 47362.You may express condolences or share memories of Jim at www.hinsey-brown.com.
