James A. Jones, of Roslyn, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at Abington Jefferson Hospital. He was 64 years old. Jim, as he was known by his family and friends, was born on June 10, 1961 to the late Horace Jones, Jr. and the late Isabele (née Hopkins) Jones. He was the husband to the late Bonnie C. Jones who passed away in 2015.

James started his journey as a firefighter at just 16 years old, a calling that quickly grew into a lifelong passion. Even after he stepped back from active firefighting, he continued to serve the community by joining the Fire Police in 2015. Alongside this dedication, Jim had many other interests that brought him joy. He had a deep love for automobiles, whether they had two wheels, four, or even eighteen, he admired them all. He also had a fascination with the weather; he could spend hours studying a radar, tracking storms, and making sure others were prepared for whatever was coming.

Jim was also drawn to acting and had begun exploring opportunities in that world. He even appeared as an extra in a film. something he was proud of and excited to share with his family and friends.

After holding many different jobs over the years, Jim found his career home with UPS. He joined the company in July of 1989 and proudly dedicated nearly 39 years of service as a driver. Through that time, he built lasting friendships, earned respect for his hard work, and became a familiar and friendly face to countless people along his routes.

Jim is survived by his two sons: Zachary J. Jones and Nicholas R. Jones (Gabrielle) and his sisters: Sue Carver and Carol Clark.

Relatives and friends are invited to Jim's Life Celebration on Saturday, August 23, 2025 from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. followed by his memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2086 Parkview Ave. Abington, PA 19001. Parking is available at the entrances of the Craft-Givnish Life Celebration Home on Old York Rd. and Old Welsh Rd.

Family services are entrusted to the Craft-Givnish Life Celebration Home, 215-659-2000.
